Prepare a CV, email and speculative application
Explain your contribution with truthful, relevant and readable information.
Choose content for the role
Include professional contact details, a brief profile, experience, education, skills and honest language levels. Relevant volunteering, care work or projects can demonstrate skills if their context is clear. You do not need to invent employment.
- Describe a task, your approach and an outcome you can explain.
- Put relevant information first. Exclude identity numbers, bank details and medical information.
Write a short, specific message
State the role or reason for contacting, relevant experience and availability for a conversation. For speculative applications, explain your interest without pretending there is a vacancy.
- Example subject: “Application — warehouse assistant — name”.
- Check recipient, filename, spelling, links and attachment before sending.
Keep track
Save the employer, role, date, channel and next step in My applications. This app prepares documents; you send them through the employer’s verified channel.
