Logistics and warehouse work
Distinguish order picking, stock control and equipment operation.
Tasks and skills
Receiving, storage, picking and inventory require accuracy and coordination. Prepare an example of checking quantities or finding a discrepancy; do not claim equipment experience you do not have.
Requirements and learning
The vocational catalogue includes auxiliary warehousing. Ask employers about training and authorisation for specific equipment, and providers about practical training. Not every warehouse role involves forklift operation.
Conditions and alternatives
Ask about loads, mechanical aids, shifts, travel and scanning or recording systems. Retail replenishment or dispatch support may be alternatives if their duties fit.
